A N Wilson has written lots of biographies, the one of Darwin being particularly worthwhile. But so far I'm quite taken with this overview of Dickens and what other biographers have revealed about him. If you like Dickens' novels and have not read a biography you need to read this. (It will lead you on to other bios.) It will change your perspective about the novels.
