I'm having trouble tearing myself away from Nero Wolfe novels. I've read five of them in less than a week. Now I find another blogger is also a Rex Stout fan, the Trollopian Eve Fisher whose blog is Sleuth Sayers. Here is her post about Wolfe and Samuel Johnson.

Really, I can't imagine why I wasn't reading them in 2000, too, Nan.

I must have heard of him from the old DL list. I even joined a group called The Wolfe Pack and got occasional mail from them. I think they are in NYC and get together in person.

Nan, The Wolfe Pack! I'll have to look for them. I can see where the whole Wolfe shtick could lead to a Holmesian group vying to see who knows the most and who has the most vivid imagination. I read somewhere that Mycroft Holmes was his father.
