This is one of my all-time favorite poems. I read it every Christmas, along with A Child's Christmas in Wales. I almost posted it on my blog again this year. It is lovely to see that you appreciate it as well. I'm not a very religious person, but I love this poem.

Another favorite that I was just thinking about because of something I read is J. Peter Meinke's "Advice to My Son."

jenclair, Some time ago I was reading T S Eliot and came across this (which I had not seen before) and set it to post today. Thanks for the mention of the Meinke poem. Serve bread with your wine . . . but always serve wine. Wonderful!
