I was so young then but I remember those names.

Like you, Nan, I was young then but old enough that I read the NY Times every day. The Great Grey Lady played it down, I suspect because I don't recall the events as they happened. Only in later years did I get the whole story as I saw these people referred to elsewhere.


Thanks for this review--like Nan, the names are familiar with intrigue and scandal. I'd like to know more.

The book is terrific, jenclair. It begins with background on the Macmillan government. He was a wily old bird.
