This book, Belgravia, has just come home from the library. And I have high expectations. Julian Fellowes knows how to put together a film or a TV series (Gosford Park was terrific and his more recent TV productions have been very popular.) For this book he has wisely relied on consultants who themselves have done some seriously successful work: Hotel Babylon and Mr Selfridge.
The story begins in Brussles on the night of 15 June 1815 as the cream of London society prepares to attend a ball given by the Duchess of Richmond. Little do they suspect that tomorrow will be a date that will live in English history.
